APFDC has raised Bamboo Plantations over an area of 10559.47 hectares in the Districts of Adilabad, Khammam, East & West Godavari, Kurnool, Warangal.

Sale of harvested bamboo fetches, on an average, a gross revenue of Rs.700 lakhs per annum. Every year about 25.00 – 30.00 lakh Long Bamboos are extracted. These are transported from the plantations to APFDC Depots where sales are held by way of conducting auctions. Besides, about 3000 - 5000  Metric Tonnes of Bamboo Industrial Cuts from the unsaleable Bamboos are also extracted annually which is sold to paper industries.
